“What the heck is a fertility doula?”
I get asked this question all the time. And I’m here to explain.
In simple terms, a fertility doula is a trained support person and advocate who guides individuals or couples who are thinking about their reproductive journey, family planning and or those who are trying to conceive. Through the pre-conception phase, fertility treatments, or early pregnancy, focusing on emotional support, education, logistics, and holistic wellness.
A fertility doula is someone who walks beside you during one of the most emotional and confusing journeys you may ever go through, trying to conceive. Think of it as having a calm, caring, and knowledgeable companion who helps you navigate the stressful, confusing world of fertility.
As a fertility doula, I’m here to give you both emotional support and clear information. That means helping you understand your cycle, your options, and what all the medical terms really mean. It means being someone you can talk to openly, without judgement and without pressure. I’m also here to help you move through the challenges of reproductive health with more confidence. Whether you’re exploring natural conception, egg freezing, IVF, or still figuring out where to begin, you don’t have to do it alone. I help you prepare for appointments, organize your timeline, manage medications or procedures, and weave in holistic practices like mindful breathing, nutrition, or gentle movement to support your body and mind.
I don’t replace your doctor, but I do help you make sense of everything, hold space for your emotions, and stay grounded through the ups and downs. My role is to make your path feel a little less overwhelming, a little more supported, and a lot more compassionate.
